You are here: Value of Medical Imaging

  • Gordon Cole, North Carolina

“Medical imaging continues to be a vital tool in my treatment.”

Gordon Cole was a healthy 54 year-old husband, father of two and commercial real estate appraiser when he was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer about five years ago. He is a survivor today because medical imaging services like MRI and CT scans allowed his doctors to plan and execute his treatment with the precision that only medical imaging services can afford.

Throughout his treatment, Gordon has been actively involved with the Colon Cancer Alliance in the Triad, North Carolina area. He continues to work with fellow colon cancer survivors, helping them navigate their treatment and ensuring all patients maintain access to the right scan at the right time, which has proven essential in Gordon’s care.

A recent study demonstrated that computed tomography colonography (CTC), also known as virtual colonoscopy, is beneficial not only because of its noninvasive nature, but is also an acceptable alternative to colonoscopy for patients at risk of colorectal cancer. Click here to learn more.
